Hi, My friend interviewed at splunk last month (Jan 2020) and completed all the round including 2 phone screen and 6 onsite interviews. After the interview that friend got a call and received verbal offer for the position the person interviewed for. The only negotiation that person did was for matching base salary from current employer.. Recruiter informed about talking with manager & also checking with lawyer for the approval. The recruiter came back after 1-2 days and told my friend that the team has got approval from lawyer and my friend should be expecting something by EoD today or tomorrow. EoD today passed and on day of tomorrow, recruiter calls my friend and tells that HM want's my friend to be interviewed for 2-3 more rounds ( on top of 8 rounds ) so that they can asses coding/programming language skills. From what i think this should have never made past any verbal communication if splunk team wants to interview further for this senior role based on coding language and not industry experience of 8+ years. This is very negative for Splunk hiring which already have 46% negative when it comes to interview experience. My friend ended up accepting another offer even when Splunk was the first choice... and it's all because of terrible hiring procedures by some team's at Splunk
And is your friend not in blind or he is your other side?
my friend is not on blind and he is not my other side... :P
I am his friend
Companies lose talent by dragging out the recruitment process.

Had a MS recruiter reach out to me 2 weeks ago for an interview tomorrow, still hasn't set it up, won't respond to emails 😬🔫
When you’re triggered you’re triggered. Voice of the people ✊🏻
It’s Splunk’s loss!
Splunk hiring/interview/internal transfer process is slow and horrible by any standard. One of the worst aspects of working here.
I actually just finished the interview process which was just 3 weeks, was impressed with the speed. Now I’m in the situation of the topic starter - asked to align the base salary and hope the guys won’t disappear haha
Good, I hope they are improving....
6 interviews is a lot, other companies have only 4-5 rounds of interviews, btw what do they ask in those 6 interviews?
Strange, a similar thing happened to me. Got called in again for another team after already being told I cleared interview and would get an offer...
Same thing happened to me. After 6 rounds then 2 more rounds. They are all curious why I want to leave a FANNG company to join them which makes them look very bad. I am tired of the whole process.
Bad on splunk 🤷♂️
I agree... the team responsible for this is adding to splunks downward trend
