How to deal with a manager who likes to micro manage your work?!
Find a new team or company.
This is pretty much the only thing that actually works. In HR interview or a meeting with skip level manager, let them know the reason for change.
Start flooding his/her mailbox during mid night with project status updates. It did work for me.
Information over flow, way to go
That didn't work for me. Me made a special folder for my emails and never read them.
Are you in the Middle Mile planning tech team? By far the worst tech manager I have seen at Amazon. He has been steadily loosing people too, so in the long run when the team can't deliver shit, he'll get canned.
have weekly 1:1, facilitate conversation and build a relationship/trust. or find a new job if this doesn’t help.
I had a colleague like this. He eventually got promoted and sent to another dept. Guess he’s their problem now! Bwhaha. Usually people who are micromanagers tend to be scared of making mistakes because they’ve f- up before. This same dude made a mistake and we had to sit in our manager’s office while he had to cop to it.
Talked to HR and then start documenting the issues.
I have a micro manager too. It is hard. I'm looking new jobs now.

Tends to look at your emails before you send them out?!
That’s odd!! Is he/she trying to help or just being picky on what you send?
