Bad idea to apply internally in hopes of getting out of new grad program?

Would it be a bad idea to discuss with my manager about a promotion or applying internally? Would they let me get out of the new grad program? I started early July in the new grad analyst program but I quickly made it through onboarding and training and am now just another SWE on my team like everyone else (all the other SWE’s on my team are Senior or Lead). I’m making very solid contributions each sprint and am even leading a focus group now and helping engineers that’re much more experienced than I am. Meanwhile, I know most others in the program are still onboarding/training and have little to no responsibility in their day to day.

you can ask your manager how that process has worked in the past, how long it took others and how to best position yourself. 4 months seems early to get out of the program, but no harm in setting goals early on and tracking them with your manager

&& apply internally or just wait it out?

You can definitely ask what does it take to get to the next level and take note to deliver on those things. Don’t pester the manager about personal timelines with just 4 months under the belt

youve written this post like a college kid. Hard to understand title, don’t get to the main point until way down.

I think the first two sentences actually summarize the question decently, and the rest is just exposition/context.
