People are buying by seeing dreamy returns on properties purchased during covid times. Even builders are creating fake demands by keeping the units reserved and advertising small % of units available. This makes more demand and price is skyrocketing. Rent is skyrocketing near office areas because of high no of hiring during the great resignation and people are ready to pay as pay scale risen up. I guess it will be like that for another 3-4 yrs until many projects which got launched in recent times would be ready. After that many of the owners would put out rent on their units (because most of them buying for investment) but then I believe rent would fall because of more supply than demand and then people would be less interested to buy and rates would fall too eventually (obviously not like covid times)
I am able to see rentals being more available already. Number one reason for buying rise is investors only. On the ground, i dont see friends buying in much. Friends from mba, consulting, devs, etc. Most of them still on rent coz the price is not making sense. They'll buy only because of FOMO
OP, you mentioned that walmart didn't offer 85lpa CTC to you at staff position with 10yoe and IIT/NIT + Amazon tag ? Sounds highly dubious. Walmart regularly pays 1cr+ (ctc) to staff positions.
