Hey guys! An interesting situation popped up. I applied to Barclays for an AVP position. Did the interview and whatnot, and got a call back 4 days after, asking me for salary expectations and whatnot. Fast forward to today (almost 2 weeks later), I get a call saying they’d love for me to join as a BA4, due to the fact that they think I’d be an excellent fit. I pushed for AVP again and let them know that my career would make a very lateral move if I take the BA4. Plus, it’s just not what I applied for. Any suggestions or thoughts? Ask 140 and join BA4. You will loose on yearly bonus but it still better than your current pay. Also have a written promotion to AVP in year 2 . It's all in negotiating.
You think 140 as a BA4 is viable?
I have seen BA4 in 125 - 130 range.. Consulting to BA4 converted employees while I was working at Barclay's. Also scale is relative to department, manager n lots of other factors. I have worked with a product owner who is a BA4 that told me she's making pretty good compared to AVP scales.
Don't accept ba4. They will stifle on gc process if you're dependent on it. Or get in written comm that you'll be promoted to avp and get started with immediate gc process. Barclays is notorious for doing these stunts for immigration.
Fortunately I’m a US Citizen, so that shouldn’t be a concern. I’m moreso annoyed that they’re offering BA4 when I applied for AVP
Up level to AVP isn't happening for someone with 3yoe in this job market. Sorry. The current offer seems sound imo.
The $115k is something to consider in your opinion?
Since OP is currently making 90k, yes. That's >25% bump
