Folks who relocated from Bay to Raleigh are you happy with your move?
A close friend moved there from Redmond last summer and loves it. The cost of the house she bought was 60% lower than her obscenely valued Redmond home.
It’s already expensive compared to potential income, no?
Yeah Raleigh is overpriced for the local economy
Just leave your Bay Area politics at home
It’s not like NC is solid red.

If I have money I will buy housea in Raleigh. It is growing fast.
Where are you based currently?
I visited the area recently. Suburbs and homes are very nice. Very green because it gets a lot of rain. If buying a huge home for $1 million is your thing, you should consider moving.
Not any more. $1M won't buy you a huge house anymore but it again depends on your definition of huge. IMO, huge would be 4000+ sqft on 15k+ sqft lot.

Raleigh is awesome but you need to know what you’re signing up for. It’s true America suburban life. The location is money if you like outdoor activities of any type; biking, skiing (West Virginia), mountains, beach. City had a good food scene. We currently live in Austin and it’s absolutely trash. Raleigh is superior on every vector.
How is housing over there ? I know people from BayArea can afford but I’m asking as someone from Midwest
Its like any city depends on where you live. Look on Zillow in wake forest and Cary for example. People in Raleigh tend to live pretty far out from the city core. There are likely homes you can afford but of course depends on your financial situation. Raleigh is nothing like SF but the market is very strong and competitive. Neighborhoods in the Raleigh metro tend to have 3 types of real estate. Multi family, single family and then an estate section. You’ll see this across nearly every popular subdivision. If you look north of the city there is some tremendous new construction.
