Anyone who’s worked both areas, preferably at larger companies like Amazon. Which do you prefer and why. Pros/Cons besides the obvious like Bay Area having more tech / networking.
Pros of LA: lots of diversity(non tech), good weather and lots of pretty beaches with pretty people. Lot of places with just a drive away. Cons of LA: you need a car for anything and everyone has a car so the traffic is almost always bad unless you don’t commute much. Salaries don’t get as high as Bay Area, even amazon has different band in LA area compared to Bay even though both are in same state.
LA will be a lot cheaper though so you’ll come out even at least
If you like sunny weather, LA.
Low TC in LA which means your net worth will be less.
While TC in LA may be lower, the city is infinitely better and your day to day life will be better. At that point, is TC really worth it? To me no; you need to enjoy life.
You should visit both if you haven't already. Different cities with completely different vibes. I thought the Bay was sh*t. Others love it. L.A. gets my vote hands down.
LA has so much different things to offer. Definitely best weather year round.

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
LA, hotter chicks out there.
Too fake though, high maintenance
True, I'm suggesting LA for someone in it's 20s, I think he or she will have more fun in LA than the Bay area. If you're getting older Bay or Orange county might be a better choice, or why not moving further north to Oregon or Washington...
