👋 - Any recommendations for buying best adjustable dumbells? Have looked up on Amazon but they aren’t really looking so great.
core home fitness adjustable dumbbells, they're more compact and better designed than the bowflex ones (i've used both)
I agree. With an adjustable dumbbell the length should change as the width is increased. Core does this but Bowflex doesn't which is very awkward for light weights
Bowflex
Powerblocks I think are much better than the Bowflex? I got the 70lb powerblocks at the beginning of the pandemic and they're great.
What do you like better about the power blocks?
I used them all and they suck in comparison to actual dumbbells. If you have the room and are serious into fitness, skip the junk and get the real deal. You also save time especially if you superset or do burnsets. Better gains, less time, higher quality product. Only downside is more space and higher cost, but they will last a lifetime versus adjustable which will eventually break.
adjustable dumbells are crappy in general. Get a set from rep fitness (probably same brand as rogue fitness) if you have the room. https://www.repfitness.com/conditioning/rep-urethane-coated-round-dumbbell-sets . If you are really baller you can order Watson pro dumbbells. They do customizations too. https://watsongym.co.uk/product/watson-pro-dumbbells/.
Gatekeeping on weights lol, now I've seen everything. 100lbs is 100lbs. Don't overpay for hunks of metal.
No it isn't. Fixed is more compact with better weight distribution. Adjustable is large and bulky which inhibits many movements disallowing for some exercises or greatly reducing range of motion. I said people who are serious into fitness. Average joes who don't really lift, don't need it. Even fixed cheap versus more expensive is different. Cheaper metals means bulker, poorer uniform weight distribution, or just lesser durability (the cheaper ones aren't welded together, handles may break off). I fell into the weight is weight trap long ago. I threw out all that crap and upgraded to good equipment. I am not the typical lifter. I squat 500 + pounds, deadlift 600+ pounds, bench over 300 pounds, etc.
Here a few that I recommend based on my needs. Note I have been seriously training for 23-24 years. 1. Low weight and decent quality for home and non aggressive use - 5-50lbs. Core Fitness - https://corehomefitness.com/products/adjustable-dumbbell-set 2. Moderate weight and very similar design above. 5-80lbs which is more than enough for the casual trainer https://smrtft.com/products/nuobell-80lb 3. Can be upgraded to 165lb with upgrade kit. More durable than above options. https://www.ironmaster.com/categories/dumbbells-and-kettlebells/ 1 and 2 can be supplemented with heavier static dumbbells (hex w/o rubber tend to be cheaper) but those will run you about 2-2.50/lb (twice pre pandemic prices. I personally don't like any of the options above (serious trainer here) but I make do with what I have to maintain my health and physique. Hope this helps

Bow flex is ok. Kind of cumbersome for certain exercises.
Bowflex
^this. Worth the price. Bought them 4 years ago, use them atleast 5 days a week and they work well.
