Miami has no state income tax, but it's probably the worst for my tech career and culture fit. NYC/SF/LA are super expensive. Chicago is cold and in the Midwest. Seattle rains. I think if money wasn't of concern, NYC wins. If dating wasn't a concern SF would win. I'm young, single, remote software engineer and want to live it up. I'm thinking about buying a place. I also don't know anyone in any of these cities so I'll have to make friends.
You have failed to mention what is your priority in life Getting dates, saving to buy a house, work ur ass off and get a 300k TC ??
I want it all
null exception error
Seattle weather is better than many cities on your list, but 110K won’t cut it here.
How much do you make
You can live in Seattle with 110k. You can love downtown in an older building without a car pretty easily.
There is no place for you. You have no much money, sound arrogant and want it all
You have no much English :)
WTF? You are worse
Memphis
Why is Miami so high up?
Latinas dude!
If you’re a stereotypical tech guy, don’t go to Miami, you will find no love from the people there.
Curious why?
Millions of NYers get by just fine on a lot less than 110. If you love New York, stay there.
Simple. Look for new job at NYC/SF/LA that pay 200K+ TC.
I can't quit because of my Stock
If you live in Miami, it is a killer to your career. Live in LA or NY. Great social life. When you are young, you can afford to live anywhere. This is the time to take risks. After 10 years in Miami, your position won't change much.
The problem is my startup offered me stock and it doesn't make sense to quit.
I still don't understand why Miami is so high up
Where is Austin?
Austin is a small town to tier 1 cities
LOL “Tier 1” cities...by what metric? By size you’re missing quite a few cities and if you’re talking about tech Austin and Boston beat out half your list...
