I work for a start up and they just had their first round of layoffs today. They said the next 30-90 days are going to be rough, so I'm guessing there will be more. What's a good company for analytics? Looking for a solid WLB, pay bump would be nice. TC: 105k YOE: 5
Depends what you mean by analytics. If you’re more business/product savvy, then Meta would probably be a great fit. If you’re very fluent in statistics well beyond confidence intervals and want to use these skills to make an impact, then you probably will hit your head against the wall at Meta. Data science here means SQL savvy MBA not business savvy statistician. We hate MBAs because we’re still stuck in the “we’re tech and we’re too smart for MBA” culture of the early 2000s.
Great insight - Thank you!
What are these roles called? Product Analyst?
MongoDB has a great analytics team and several open senior analyst roles
I'll check it out, I'm currently a senior analyst at my company, but don't mind hopping for a similar title
There’s a recession looming. Startups are firing Big co’s are freezing hiring And you still want nice wlb and a better TC. Surreal lol
His TC is 105k lol, he could find better WLB and better TC even in this market. Assuming he’s not working for a startup in Nobnoster Missouri.
There’s literally hundreds of applicants for analytics roles these days lol. And ~80% of them were hired from boomer co to a small startup during covid-19 hiring boom. Which isn’t the most desirable tbh.
