Should I marry a lazy girl?
Hello, I'm curious what your thoughts are for best EV car in 2023. My wife does commute to work and we plan on getting an EV. Given so many options, I'd love to get blinds take on this. What are your thoughts about Plug in Hybrid cars? Ps: I don't love Tesla for their interiors for the price. I just don't think it's good value for $$$ and don't want to make musk any more rich than he already is 🤑 TC: 350k

I hate Teslas too! If you can afford to pay 100K +. I’d highly recommend Porsche Taycan.
Charging network and I don't believe in paying 100k for a car (I'd rather buy an investment property)
Tbf, Tesla dropped prices even more. So that makes them a bit more appealing. Plus make sure what car is cable with what type of charging stations. Tesla can charge at superchargers and a couple more. Some come with specific types with no adapters that limits charging locations
Hyundai Kona has a good range, 480km
What’s a km
Kilometers
Mach E
None of the EV is cheaper than Model-3 except Bolt which is a lower class.
So you want a nice charging network? And don't want a Tesla? Hmm, good luck with that.
I've heard Tesla is outsourcing their charging network so why not? Just to be clear, I'm okay with not having a super amazing network. I'm also considering Plug-in hybrids but not really sure.
Yes, I think the word's been out for a while but nothing confirmed. Also just fyi Tesla supercharging is only getting costlier. Plus out of network will be charged a premium over regular prices incase you wanna consider that too.
Tesla is the only player that can give you a quality car and support it with a vast charging network. Interiors are shit for the price but that's your only option if you care about everything else in a car. I hate the current situation as well. I'm waiting for lucid and rivian to produce more cars and hit my spot in the wait list.
Rivian is really good. I loved Rivian followed by Ionic 6
Unclear whether Rivian will survive as a company so there is risk buying their products. Ioniq 6 seems good but I read posts in their subreddit complaining about the abysmal charging situation
Tesla is your only option if you want a working charging network
Does charging network really matter if all you care is driving in bay area? Secondly, isn't Tesla outsourcing their network?
If you’re certain that you will be driving only within range of your house in the Bay Area then I guess you’re likely fine without charging network? As soon as you decide you want to take a day trip to Santa Barbara or some other place nearby you’ll be facing complications and buyer’s remorse in my humble opinion. Full disclosure, I drive a model Y and love it so maybe I’m biased. It has changed my expectations of what a car should be. After the price cuts it’s a great deal
Chevy Bolt is the best bang for your money if the cost savings is the top concern. If you have ‘that life’ then I’d wait a year because the next generation of EVs are pretty exciting. I myself am looking at the Ford Lighting EV truck.
Why can’t she decide?
I'm just presenting some options. Decision part comes later.
The part where you decide for her?
