Currently employed East Coast in LCOL area but after finishing MBA w/ 2 YOE PM, 7 total work, I’m considering options forward. Preference would be to avoid NYC/Boston area to stay closer to family from PA down to VA. Know Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have offices in some of these cities (Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Richmond, Baltimore), but have limited touch points with the products supported. Any experiece with the types of teams affiliated with these branch offices, is it increasingly difficult to land directly there versus a pitstop at HQ campuses? Culture better or worse than large offices? Current TC: 130
Ditto to above. Microsoft is expanding it's empire with JEDI in the DC area.
Go to DC. They have offices but also Amazon HQ will be in Arlington, VA so you'll probably have lots of options. AWS is big in DC due to government work.
It looks like they are already hiring for the HQ2 positions, seems promising.
