What are the best teams in Bloomberg wrt interesting work, potential to get raises/promotions, WLB? I am a new grad. Good at C++, Decent at Java, cool with learning new languages, frameworks. I am interested primarily in backend but I am open to other areas as well. #bloomberg #bloombergoffer
All distributed systems teams under SI are great!
Can you clarify why software infrastructure is a good place to be?
You would mostly be working on either using open source tools or building a product which competes with them (think DBs, MQs) and performs better than those used in the open source world in many customer relevant use cases! Overall, engineers who work on such distributed systems, ML teams tend to be happier!
How are the managers in this department, wlb, and career growth. Also is there engineers who are on call?
Imma need a referral 😳

If you do Bloomberg, make sure it's a full-time position. Never do a contract with them
Yup it's full time.
A group of us got let go after three months on contracts because of budgeting issues. Someone else I knew was luckier and was indefinitely on a contract for years. Eventually she got full-time. I wouldn't trust that company with anything tbh
