I have accepted a position in Toronto and we're all set to move from San Francisco. I am seeking recommendations from the blind community on the best neighborhoods in Toronto for a young family. We have a 2 year old and would ideally like to be close to parks, recreation areas etc. TC - $300k CAD ($200 + $100 stock)
OP, mind sharing your experience and role? Your offer looks good for Canada
Generally speaking anywhere is nice in Toronto, except Jane St near YorkU. If you like to live in the city I would say near Harborfront or Yorkville are pretty nice. Also lots of nice apartments on Bay St. If you don’t mind a little commute, Richmond Hill and Markham are good if you want to get a house.
Beaches are lovely. Live close to Queen St and catch the Express bus. Hard to beat! Congrats, cool move!
Thank you.
Live in downtown, 2 bed condos would be best. You will save a lot of time and money commuting (assuming your office is downtown ). Also in condo living you don’t have to worry about shoveling snow in winter.

You will hate your life for at least 6 months a year.
High park area is nice. A lot of high rise apartments. If not that - then rent a condo in downtown or harbor front.
Every neighbourhood in TO is close to parks, so you should do pretty well on that front. Absent any other priorities, young families often choose the east end (e.g. Leslieville or The Beaches). It’s a quieter pace of life compared to the west end, with tonnes of great amenities. It can be a bit out of the way, though. Neighbourhoods like The Junction can be a nice way to split the difference. You get the quieter pace, nice high streets, but also good connections to the GO, UP and TTC rail lines. Both choices will be walkable, vibrant places.

Seriously, why would anyone ever consider buying an EV that isn't a Tesla?
The best of Canada is British Columbia. The best of British Columbia is Vancouver. The best Vancouver is Seattle.
Vancouver is so much better than Seattle. The only negative is TC
