I am fairly new to Bay area and was looking for help in finding a townhome or home to rent in Bay area in Fall. Criteria: 1. 3 BR, 3 Bath. (Can go with two B/BR but presume I can rent out the 3rd room, if needed.) 2. 30-45 mins (or less) one way commute to Sunnyvale Amzn Lab 126 3. Max rent $5000 4. Any decent park close by to home would be a nice addition. What are the areas I should be looking at? Is North San Jose or Santa Clara good? Thanks for your help. TC: 400k YOE: 15
5k is cheap for u? 😐
Housing is generally between 20-40% of monthly income. At 5k per month, it’s 16% of income which is pretty low/“cheap”.
Check TC dude .. we are poor
What eateries or hikes can you suggest in NSJ?
Do you care about public schools?
Not for another 3 years.
It makes things simpler. I would check the area around the Rivermark Plaza in Santa Clara.

Haha 😊
Hi 😜
Hayward or further east of you can take the commute
If you want to save more be more creative, think outside the box, get cardboard boxes that will cover you at night
Going for 3b/3b isn't really going to save you that ton of money compared to a 2b/2b. Do check out apartments in North SJ for cheap and peaceful neighborhoods or Sunnyvale/Santa Clara for school districts. Palo Alto if you can find
If you can find one in Santa Clara it would be best - closer to work and other places you might enjoy. North San Jose is clean but pretty boring and the smell from Milpitas is unbearable if the wind is blowing towards San Jose. Campbell and Sunnyvale would be my favorites.
