Best foreign exchange rate for INR to USD?
Where can one get competitive foreign exchange rates for INR to USD? Amount: 175K - 250K USD I have recently relocated and now transferring my assets. Bank-to-bank transfer is preferred. EDIT Money has to be transferred from India to USA. Some of the services that have been recommended below do not even offer this conversion.
Xoom is quicker, but I cannot guarantee if it’s best rate

My bad, I read it otherwise(USD to INR). For INR to USD, the only way I am aware of is wire transfer from major banks in India to the US.
They seem to have a max of 8500 USD per transaction.
Do you have to pay taxes/fees if you transfer larger amount?

http://www.dollar2rupee.net/ I used to compare here to transfer an year ago, Ria was best most of the time ( for small amounts though). Someone I know just uses a credit card for purchases there, he said that that’s better as it gives current exchange rate
