Indexs, and fully managed funds. It has been proven over and over that single stock picking will never bet the indexes. Don't let anyone convince you that you can day trade options effectively. It's a skill that takes years to understand and be effectively dispassionate about.
Options had me blow up 3 accounts in 2 years, however, the third year, I made all the losses back and another 15%. Not one and done plays either where I’d lose streak then hit a huge gainer, which made me and 90% of others blow up first few accounts. I agree though. Takes experience and my strategy on it is that simplicity is key (speaking TA and the Greeks like delta/ theta), plus don’t get greedy. So much easier said than done, but options is potentially my fallback, full time occupation in the future. I do like the index strategy, any suggestions 2-5 year time window? Interested in more passive strategies since options can make the average person stare at a screen several hours a day regretting their 0DTE QQQ put play after a 2 pm FED call. Oh the memories
Not true… I’ve been beating the market (especially last year) with options. Been the case for the last 3+ years. First 2 years was rough, but lost only maybe 18-20K.
VTI, obviously. Also, there's no real difference between dividend and growth stocks besides dividends being taxed at a higher rate than capital gains, in case you were under that misconception.
