Level.fyi has trash data for top paying company, e.g.wrong leveling comparations and using incorrect sampled data points. I am sharing data points mostly with my first hand experience and some friends (hring manager, they know pay band). Excluding trading firms and non-public companies, not considering stock appreciation, just look at grant price. Tier 1: senior pays 500K+, staff pays 700k+, may include refresh. Snowflake(IC3, IC4), Meta, Netflix(senior, staff), Roblox(IC4, IC5), Airbnb, Snap, Coupang(staff1, staff2) Pinterest arguably in this tier with 50% front loading vest. Tier 2: senior pays 400k+, staff pays 550k+ Google, Uber, Robinhood, Coinbase, Confluent(staff1,staff2), LinkedIn(staff, senior staff), Apple, Amazon(SDE3, principal), Nvidia(IC5, IC6) Tier 3: I don't care about this list :) #toppay, #offer
Definitely wrong on LinkedIn, in fact LinkedIn is a shoot show at the moment
LinkedIn staff is considered as senior band ...
what's wrong with LinkedIn now
Meta Senior is not 500K+ as new hire. It becomes 500K+ with refresher. Same with staff, it’s not 700k+.
I guess it can touch it with sign on
Woe. How do you know? And how to get leverage for negotiation that high?
How’s snowflake for front end?
Chill WLB, low visibility on the other hand.
@snowflake which team is chill wlb? heard most teams r overworked even in FE
Snowflake comp is only good for product and engineering. Rest of the company is only ok
I am in eng, yep, only talking about eng pay.
Zand4: any idea about comp bands for Salesforce developer/admin roles? Asking for my wife
I’ve worked at 2 of the tier 1s known for horrid WLB because I can’t get interviews or offers from anywhere with good WLB * pay except Google downlevel
Meta and coupang?
Coupang is as brutal as Amazon with weird Asian working hours
I thought Amazon is solidly in tier 2, and approaching tier 1 in 2021
Their senior pays 500k for outliers right? Their principal pay may reach 700k, I don't have data points, because that company is in my blacklist since I graduated. I have most first hand data points for other companies I mentioned.
It should be Tier 1 because that comp is based in Seattle where there is no income tax.
OP, what is a decent offer for apple with 16YOE for ict5? Can it reach 550?
Definitely yes, ict5 is staff role, look for 250k + 20% + 1M grant.
Have you looked at recent ict5 offers? You should.
Cruise used to be good 😕
Not liquidable.
Wrong, comp is all cash now. And definitely in Tier 1 in terms of pay.
Yeah levels FYI says confluent l4 is staff. It's senior. Snap may not exist anymore as we know it. Confluent seems like it has one of the best potentials behind snowflake, market volatility has allowed many good stock entry points (I joined when it was below 20$ for my grant), but this year we are becoming profitable while still growing v fast.
Staff 1 is senior band, staff 2 is staff band right?
L4 is 3/4yoe+ So yeah l5a overlaps with senior, l5b would be staff Those are huge distinctions that are not captured in levels.fyi In other words bc of the muddy data of including l5a and l5b together, pay for staff is probably higher than that average it shows.

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
This is the only list that matters . But it’s wrong for Apple
Also wrong for Google because when did Google stop lowballing?
Lines up with my experience from Apple. But apples bands are wide so ymmv
