Hey everyone - I'm new to blind. Right now I'm doing enterprise sales with $100k base and $100k commission. I'm hoping to find a job with double the base and double the commission. I have 4 years SaaS sales experience. Worked at a startup, got bought by Cisco, crushed my quota there, and now am at another startup doing purely enterprise size deals. Anyone know the best places for remote sales jobs that have at least a $200k base? #enterprise #sales #ae
Amazon, google, Facebook
Google Cloud
What's the best way to get hired at these companies? I'm guessing have some type of referral or connection that works there to help get you in the door.
Getting hired for Sales is easy. Just having done sales at a similar company, industry, etc with great results.
People say that about referrals but most I know here applied, reached out to a recruiter, or was contacted by one. If you don't have SaaS/cloud experience, you can make up for it by studying the hell out of cloud. If you really want to stand out, basically get to a solution architect level understanding - get ASA certification before the loop as I did. I'm surprised people don't do this more often, given how much demand there is for these jobs. This was my strategy. Coming from non-tech sales, I prepared by getting to a level where I knew more about AWS than all the folks interviewing me. My manager later said he liked the initiative. It will help you do technical discovery and earn trust later in the job too. I've learned you can't rely on having a competent solutions architect. Good luck.
Good luck getting remote approved at Google if you’re in sales. Not very likely!
Aren’t you guys still remote?
You’re not going to get a 200/200 package, full stop. The best of the best AE’s can get to 350 OTE but a pretty typical OTE is 150/150.
Cisco has remote AE/AM?
Not really, job reqs would say fully remote long term you need to live in the territory you cover. I was speaking more about the desire of the OP to get to 200/200. They aren’t getting that anywhere, remote or not
You’re not going to get that with 4 years of experience. You’ll probably need at least 10-15 to get even close. And that’s only IF you are willing to do field sales and bust your a**.
