Chase sapphire reserve (which is visa) is the only credit card I currently have. What’s a good second credit card? I don’t want one that’s best for specific stores since I tend to buy from small business when I can. I don’t drive much so I don’t really care about saving on gas. I also want a card that is a good backup in case I ever lose my card. What credit card should I get? #personalfinance
I would get the Amex gold for the cash back on groceries and restaurants, but I imagine you already get some of that in the Sapphire Reserve. Amex would def be the way to go imo.
Amex blue preferred is 6% back at grocery stores and streaming services. 3% back at gas stations. Plenty of other perks.
Amex plat if you travel
Doesn’t make sense to own Amex plat and sapphire reserve. They are both for travel.
they have completely different travel benefits and it’s nice to combine them. Nothing like bundling Global Entry + Clear, Amex lounges + Priority Pass. Lyft Pink via CSR, Uber VIP/Cash via Amex.
Venture X is underrated.
I went with: Freedom Unlimited: 2x points on everything that transfers to Ultimate Rewards Freedom Flex: rotating 5x points on quarterly categories that also transfer to Ultimate Rewards There are some extra perks, but these cards are mostly useful because of the better base or specific points multipliers and have $0 annual fee.
Lol freedom cards are for simps.
