job market is not that great in SD, esp. for techies. Most of you "blinders" would balk at their salaries because they simply dont need to pay more due to the huge military presence out there

austin, TX. i lived in 8 states (NY, NJ, CT, MS, NC, TX, WA) and numerous cities. austin is hands down the best. affordable, good quality city life and shopping, outdoors activity, friendly people, and job opportunities
What about that summer humidity
Beats the hell outta winter! You’ll feel gross and sweaty your first summer and the 2nd one you’ll get over it. Plenty of cool outdoorsy things to do to keep cool too.
CA is the best if you can afford it, especially with kiddos
DC might be your best bet!
