Would you burn the bridges for 2x salary bump?
$100/mo budget - not looking for cheap, looking for best value for money in that range. For example, Verizon offers a unlimited everything 5G with Disney+, Hulu, Apple Music, ESPN+, and some other perks for $90/mo - no contract. Are there other offers worth considering? The above-listed services are good to have, could also consider a free Tier 1 phone (example iPhone 13 Pro). Free = no monthly payments for the phone. tia
currently have that verizon plan, ive been pretty happy with it
Do not consider anything non-Big Red cuz u be paying for no service where Big Red got service. Also they use English speaking support when u need it. So VZW might be most expensive on paper but in practice it’s leaps & bounds ahead in value. If u need it internationally, the pricing does get untenable for more than a day or 2 so I always gotta get a local sim card.
Tmobile magenta amplified. Very good for overseas travel.
Overseas is not really a need other than vacation every now and then
I pay $25 for 2 or 3 gigs of data a month from Verizon. It is a month to month plan and I am constantly streaming anything i want. Doesn't include any memberships but I split my memberships jointly. I bought my phone cash. I am baffled by how much the average american pays to be able to use a device that is rarely used as a phone any way.
Hello, do you mind sharing the plan name? Also if we wanted to go to contract plan later, can we keep the number? Does this support voice mail? Any other catches?
Just a month to month plan. The plan itself is/was $40 when I signed. After a year verizon gave me $10 off loyalty discount. This year I got $5 off after I signed for autopay. Sweet deal :-)
Obviously biased, but without getting into a game of one-upsmanship, I’d suggest checking friends/family reliability (not just speed) where you’ll spend most of your time, then prioritize features (data caps, hotspot tethering caps, add-on benefits, etc.), then device offers will be more similar than not between the major carriers. Also worth checking if your employer/alumni association has an affinity discount to help bring down the plan costs.
If you don’t mind prepaid and you’ve already got a Verizon compatible phone…Visible Wireless is going to be your best deal -hands down. AND they run on the Verizon network. $40/mo unlimited everything including hotspot data. Add PartyPay lines and all lines pay $5 less per line all the way down to $25/mo with each line paying their own bill. The company is still pretty small but taking more and more market share every month as no other Prepaid offer can really compete.
Get a job with work phone
I’d advise against this, have heard stories of employers not playing nice at departure/termination - keeping phone number (also, they can inquire into phone records at any time). Only good idea if phone plan is still in your name and they just reimburse you phone plan costs.
