Hey all - shit happened and another better offer came in. Supposed to start FAANG in a few weeks but will be accepting a new offer. What are the ramifications for withdrawing? What is the best way to do it? Should I explain or just keep it short? Apologize to directors or just speak with HR? FAANG: ~190k Austin Chime: ~265k Remote NY KPMG TC: 115k 🥜
You might get blacklisted from that department (director down, so maybe 20-50 people) depending on if the personalities of the management is vindictive. If they're not, you'll be fine. But even so, who cares.. There's literally thousands of other teams at Apple
The group I can work in is small. If I’m black listed I’ll be black listed from apple entirely lol. I mean it is what it is - I feel terrible for it but that’s what happens when they took 4 weeks to give me my official offer… I wrapped up other processes since I was getting nervous. Any chance apple would re neg?
If it's a small niche then you won't get blacklisted because they know the market is small
This happened to me before I joined Chime.I had another offer, but unlike your situation I didn’t sign any papers. Definitely do your best not to burn bridges. HR understands that this is a competitive market and hiring good people isn’t easy right now. I suspect they’ll come back with a higher offer if they really want you. Personally, I reached out to the hiring manager via LinkedIn and explained my decision to withdraw and thanked her for her time. She was extremely supportive and understood that my opportunity at Chime was once in a lifetime—building a team from the ground up. Best of luck! Welcome to Chime!
Tc or gtfo. Also your faang offer is from Amazon?
