As the one doing the layoffs, Vishal has correctly received a lot of hatred online. In my opinion there should be more, and I’m thrilled this news is going viral. I hope this is the end of his tenure at better.com, and the 8,000 people affected by him get some closure and a sense of safety. But the one issue I have is that I’ve only seen snippets here and there mentioning the rest of the execs. They deserve just as much criticism. There is no way this decision was made by just Vishal. Name dropping others involved is crucial so they don’t think they can fly under the radar and get away with this. First and foremost, Kevin Ryan the CFO. Fuck you Kevin. This isn’t Morgan Stanley. This isn’t an investment bank. You can’t do a RIF at a startup like Better and expect the remaining people to work harder. We’re not financial analysts at Goldman, we’re sales people, we’re diversity and inclusion people, we’re enablement people. We make your company run and without us, your company would fail. Your $1 MILLION a year salary is insane. Your 1.1 million shares are insane. I know for a fact you came up with the idea of the reduction in force months ago because people on your team talk. This is as much on you as it is on Vishal. And now you’re the interim CEO? You got so lucky Vishal was the only one on that call. I know you were just as responsible for the layoffs as he was. Elana Knoller, ex-CPO. Fuck you Elana. How you ever made it out of your shitty Goldman job to a top role at Better, we’ll never know. Your $750k a year salary is insane. The $5 MILLION you got from the secondary sale to SoftBank is insane. The money you get each month for your apartments (multiple) and your car is insane. This is as much on you as it is on Kevin and Vishal. My other post got deleted because I shared names of others involved and that violated community guidelines. Please cross your fingers and hope that this “cultural assessment” happening now will uncover the truth, because the corruption at Better runs deep. I hope no one ever forgets these names or let’s them get away with it. But until EVERYONE responsible is gone, nothing will change for the good people that remain. Layoffs do happen, but the $25M bonus for Vishal and the other money spent on these execs is just bad business and could have prevented it from happening. Reduce your salaries, stop taking bonuses, stop handing out equity, or better yet sell some more to SoftBank. Most importantly stop hiring good people and selling them a dream of working for an exciting startup when you’re just a dirty little mortgage company.
I think your other post got deleted die to the misogynistic characterisation of the female executive.
No they tell you what your post gets flagged for. It was because I added names that are not publicly available
Who are the investors in this company? They’re the ones approving the salaries of these top execs.
Professor Galloway
Jared Kushner ?
YES TO ALL OF THIS 🙌
I’ve worked with them directly once and they were absolutely the stupidest people in that department
By golly you sure hit it on the head. It’s not about go find another job it’s about standing up for what’s right. Garg needs to be held accountable yes but his posse he keeps under his wing are just as evil. Fortress balance my hands
Name the names! We need to know who to hold accountable
Do you want me to name the senior leaders who don't do shit? Do you want that fortress balance sheet just like Kevin?
Good screen name doubt its vishal but pretty funny.
Go to the press with all of this ^ it’s craY all of us better employees have kept this shiz a secret for so long
My favorite anecdote about Vishal is that the reason he's never visited any branch office is his wife won't let him leave New York because she knows he won't keep his dick in his pants, lol
That's your "favorite" anecdote?
Stop complaining, if you want to make changes so badly go ahead and start your own company.
Hi Vishal :)
I think op had a valid point. How many companies have you started so far @charter ?
