So long story short I got contacted by a recruiter 'A' at NVIDIA late March this year. I had two initial rounds of interviews before they called me for virtual on-site. I had my virtual on-site in early may 4 rounds including hiring manager interview. After couple weeks they arranged a second system design interview.Which was not part of the initial process. And also now a new recruiter 'B' became the point of contact. So after finishing all my interviews in May recruiter 'B' reached out saying team had good feedback and also the hiring manager had good feedback and they are going for verbal offer that needs some additional approval as there has been sudden pause on hiring. Since then I followed up with the recruiter on regular basis and I was told due to the hiring pause in place it will take time and asked me to hang in there. On July 28 I had a calendar scheduled meeting with the recruiter 'B' where I was told to wait further and not to worry. Meanwhile on the NVIDIA career portal my application was set Decline status and recruiter 'B' told me it was marked by mistake as declined and HR should not have done that and he told he notified the HR about the same. On August 18 the recruiter 'B' texted me and apologized for the delay and told he is pushing on his side to roll out the offer. Sadly in September the recruiter was laid off from NVIDIA but he did not let me know. Only after noticing over Linkedin on the job listing that there is recruiter 'C' I reached out to her with all the details. Recruiter 'C' let me know 'B' was laid off and she is the new recruiter now. She replied me that she will check with the hiring manager with all the feedback and let me know ,this was 13 days back from today. And today I was told I was already marked declined in the system which recruiter 'B' told was a great mistake and apologized many times earlier. My question is does NVIDIA promote such horrible candidate experience and allow malpractices devoid of transparency and grossly mislead candidates with blatant lies? What a shame!! Is this how NVIDIA promoted Best place to work? I urge NVIDIA HR and hiring managers over this post to seriously look into this and let me know if I can officially let my concerns heard. N.B. NVIDIA is still hiring for the REQ in question and offer was made recently to a candidate. Link to earlier post on the issue: [Blind] Check out this post! Didn't you know that there is hiring freeze in Nvidia ? Hiring freeze has side effect on recruitment team
They are still hiring for that particular REQ,updated my POST.
Sounds like they decided not to hire you / cut the position and you are just salty about it
They are still hiring for the position..Let me update the post.
It's not being salty if you had carefully read it.
Maybe he was laidoff/piped for a reason?
What about Recruiter 'A' she is still there.
Maybe she made to other side of the PIP :D I dunno man. Yeah it sucks. But exp could have been worse. There are recuiters who just ghost
It’s very disappointing to see such a long post and no tc at the end. GTFO
Updated TC sorry for missing the Tax.
Sorry to hear about your situation. Get used to such sht in recruiting industry. There is no point wasting your energy in such things.
I’m bouncing around in Nvidia hiring space, and this all sounds about right. Most chaotic process I’ve personally encountered. The people I meet on the teams seem great though, and the work seems pretty unique, so I’m following along.
Interviewed unsuccessfully at Nvidia a few years ago and had an on-site. i) hiring manager had no clue about my background / resume ii) it took a few months for the recruiter to reimburse my expenses iii) horrible accommodation (I was flying from the east coast) Funny anecdote. They have a huge entrance lobby which is a maze - all entry and exit points look the same. Had a couple of walk and talk interviews and the interviewers were confused about where to walk me to next. Seemed like everything and everyone at that company was in a state of flux
Thanks, I'll forward it to Jensen
I'll be truly obliged
I had my rudest interviewing experience with NVIDIA. The manager literally asked me “Did you even take an operating systems course ?” To my face.
The lower level the engineer the more protective they are of their domain. FWIW when I had a lot of interviews (years ago) I dreaded seeing firmware on a resume, they were the worst candidates. And yeah I took an OS course.
Ya I began as a device driver guy back in the day. Am glad I am not doing it any more. The coding part is stupid easy. But it’s full of low level optimizations and a bunch of Linux kernel concepts and constructs. Not many challenging problems to solve. Boring dead end work. Am glad I didn’t get the job. The hiring manager seemed super toxic.
