Big Tech in Raleigh, NC area
Are there big tech (FAANG equivalent) in Raleigh/RTP area? I know of Google - approx 1000 in next couple years Apple - approx 3000 in next couple years MSFT - approx 400 Are Facebook, Uber, Oracle and big names planning to setup shops in the area? What are other companies in the area that pay 400+ for senior (L6/7) positions? There are other companies with big presence, like IBM, Cisco, NetApps, etc but none pay in the FAANG range imo. The real estate in the area has sky rocketed with decent new construction in 1+ million range. How do people afford it with lower salary? TBH, you can secure a fully remote role with Meta that could hit that number level 6+ (5 could hit in CA, WA, NY; but likely not NC). Good luck!
People afford it on low salaries bc they bought houses before the surge…but yes it will get more painful
Meta is building out an office there
There have been rumors on blind about Meta/FB building an office there. Any references to public/official announcement? Don't see any openings in that region for FB/Meta other than data center.
They tried to get me to move there after I got an applied research scientist offer last month.
