Bitwise is confusing as hell. Having to multiply/divide without using operators makes me want to die. Do anyone of you know if Amazon interviewers have a high likely hood of asking bitwise questions?
For general swe might not be common, anything closer to compilers/hw will increase your chances
Depends if I'm your interviewer or not.
You better find a good therapist before the interview, just in case.
Is it that difficult? It’s just division by powers of 2
Do the EIP book’s first chapter, that’s sufficient to crack the interview.
haha bro, i am literally going through that chapter... which is why i asked whether its super important or not...
Just chill. Typically they don’t ask, however my friend got one and he got hints also when he was stuck but he did not listen to hints and went wrong and got reject this way. My advise would be don’t panic and learn some tricks from that book, just to prepare for the worst.
It’s not a common question but it’s also one of the easier categories of questions.
Nope no bit level questions during interviews. From what I've seen, onsite interview loops are mainly LC medium-low. So don't sweat it.
Don't worry. 99.95% of the Amazon SDEs I talk to don't know how large a pointer is. This is not the go-to place if system programming or computer hardware is what you're into.
How large is it?
depends on the architecture, but probably 8 bytes if we're talking about x64.
