Google —> Samsara ?
I finished my final interview this week. I haven’t received an offer yet, but I think it’s very likely that I receive one. Disregarding TC, would you make the switch from Google to Samsara? Why or why not? TC: I don’t worry about money anymore #tech
You have to realize that you are posting on blind, which is full of people who think prestige is everything and life is about getting to Google, Netflix, Apple, etc. What do you want in your job? Does Samsara offer that? Simple as that.
^This. Leaving and getting a better title elsewhere and interviewing again in a year would be an easier path to L+1 than trying to go up the increasingly harder mountain to climb the ladder within Google. Google prefers boomerangs than trying new people without internal connections.

No 1. It's a dysfunctional company. Knew someone who worked there pretty high up and she couldn't wait to leave. Been a few years since she left. 2. It's only IoT. At Google you have the option to transfer into different domains and product areas, even if it is getting harder by the way. In a one-product company, good luck with that.
Is anyone actually transferring internally at google anymore? I feel the days of easy internal transfers are gone for good

Yeah, and a few other things. Their core business is currently vehicle telematics.
There are so many interesting companies. Samsara is not one of them.

Samsara is trash. Flexport 2.0. It’s going to go down the drain. These physical industries don’t need worthless dashboards once they onboard ai solutions
