BlackRock Offer review
Was Offered a position for Devops Cloud Engineer Associate at Blackrock today and need feedback/pointers on the offer and how’s it like working at the company TC - $155k Base - $140k Sign on bonus - $15k Location- NYC HR said that I’ll be eligible for 20k bonus next year although I am not sure if Blackrock provide flat bonus of 20k every year? Any feedback is highly appreciated.

I got hired as associate in July with 35k annual discretionary bonus. Will I be eligible for the bonus this year? Is it cool if I discuss this with my manager?

First year TC is 155k and then from 2nd year it’s 160k
Do you have another competing offer?
Yes, from another company who’s giving base 150K in NJ with 10% bonus so that totals upto 165k
Decline it, that is not a competitive salary. If your going to be a full-time employee you will 35k on takes alone. In new your as a full-time employee ask for 260k. Now If you go with a contract and open an s-Corp you will pay less in taxes, make sure your corporate is opened somewhere there is no state taxes.
That’s a good offer for assoc. it’s basically flat like that as long as you keep getting normal rating, although as you get promoted your baseline for the “flat” bonus raises. Not necessarily a percentage tho.
