Blacklisted from Disney

Thought I'd share something (I think) is mildly funny; about 2 years ago when I was job hunting I applied for a SWE position at Disney, and was swiftly hit with a "we cannot accept your application" email. I had worked for Disney at Disneyland previously during high school/college as a restaurant host. Cool job during high school/college because I got to bring friends into the park, work costume doubled as a Halloween costume, their credit union was ok, etc. I had a few life events happen during college which took me out of being able to work my food service job at Disney- parent passed away, then health issues, then mental issues. I ended up quitting over the phone relatively short-notice because they had scheduled me to work when my parent's funeral was happening (even after talking to my manager and requesting the date off). Fast forward to SWE job application time several years later- I realized that I was auto-rejected because I didn't return my work costume all those years ago when I quit the food service job. That thing is long gone, from what I recall there was no information listed on how to reimburse Disney for the barbershop-quartet shirt and hat they were missing (lol), and even if I did get in contact with someone from HR I don't think the black mark on my record in their system would help at all if I ever wanted to work there as a SWE in the future. TL;DR: Worked at Disney in food service years ago, never returned costume, will probably never (be it from my own volition or not) be able to work for them again. TC: ~275🥜 and dropping
