Blackrock offer evaluation
Got verbal numbers for blackrock platform sre(+swe) position . The below numbers are for New York location but there will be a 15-20k difference in base if they allow me to work from Atlanta office Base - 170-200k Bonus - 40k(as long as I keep performing good) Initial Sign on 10-15k Rsu 40-50k over 2 years These are the initial numbers before negotiations. Got good vibe during interview talking to team members. Is there any room for negotiation to get the max base/sign on and rsu. Don’t have any competing offers Also do they have yearly stock refreshers ? Is there any major difference in benefits(excluding base) if I pick Atlanta over NY or SF location. For VP,average base salary in Atlanta location is $150k,joining bonus typically $15k,RSU is $50k,50% vesting per year . If you are get anything over $150k base salary in Atlanta is solid one. Which team are you joining?DM me if you need more details ,I recently joined in Atlanta location.
Going from IBM to Blackrock is a definite step down in your career. I used to be in the SRE team. They 100% lack direction and basically make stuff and shut it down every 2-3 years.
I was concerned about that. Going from tech to fin tech. But Ibm is so directionless at this point and I haven’t been doing anything fruitful atleast for past 1 year. Might as well take a pay raise and try after couple of years was my idea. How easy/hard is it to move from blackrock to tech companies(e.g faang) in future
Just made that jump. Amazon and Microsoft reached out to me on LinkedIn after I set my status to open. But none of the sexy unicorns reached out to me, and all of my applications to them were rejected- then again, might have been my lack of a college degree affecting me there. Anyway, definitely doable, at least for the tier 2/3 tech companies. You might need a referral to get the attention of tier 1s.
I dont think we get RSU . Usually directors get it
I joined Blackrock 2 years ago and there was no sign on, no RSU, and starting bonus was 20K as a frame of reference.
How much time did it take after onsite for Balckrock before giving offer?
Depends on how fast the team want and how fast the recruiter is active
