Recently got 1st round HR phone interview invitation from Blackstone. HR is using Blackstone official email. I looked at her profile, got to know she’s actually working on Blackstone recruiting business at an HR firm. She asked for a time to catch up a call this week, I replied, but didn’t hear back again. Followed up twice, silent. Checked with mentor, nothing was wrong with my email content. HR’s silent treatment was very improfessional honestly. If anything came up, just simply reply: the position is closed. It won’t hurt. The same feeling as you gotta flaked at dating. I’ve never come across such a reputable company with HR team like this. Why does leetcode get so much hate?
That’s pretty tough. Unfortunately they don’t have much incentive to reply especially when they’re busy
Prestigious firms do this all the time and pick and choose the best candidates. If they don’t find anyone they’ll probably hit you up again lol. It’s all a game
Probably not just unique to Blackstone. I had recruiters, in-house or outsourced, ghost me a few times, once just like in your situation where it's actually the recruiter that reached out to me first. Another time, after a few rounds of interviews. I don't really have high expectations for these recruiting process anymore in terms of getting a response. Exception was Netflix, their HR folks were very courteous and responded timely - it was great.
That’s really disappointing to hear. My experience with Recruiting/ HR was and has been fantastic. I’m hoping this is just a one off.
