I love Blind and have learned a ton about the Tech industry by being here. I think the anonymity allows us to be more open and honest, which I believe is the intent. With that said, a good rule of thumb is to “not do anything you wouldn’t want printed as a headline tomorrow morning.” The anonymity provided by Blind unintentionally opens the door to all of us saying things we wouldn’t if we were face to face with that individual. I’m sure there is something larger here, but just mentioning something I am going to try to be more aware of going forward.
Is not that the whole point of being anonymous? If you can say things face to face to someone or about someone, then there is no need to be anonymous, right? Which is what Blind is solving. Sorry, not following your concern here.
I think the point was for employees to share workplace information without the risk of retaliation from employers. Not to hide behind anonymity to say hateful things to each other.
Welcome to the internet!
Yeah, I understand that Blind isn’t the only place on the internet. I do feel there is more of a community here than elsewhere.
There’s a troll in all of us
True, there's a troll 6 inches deep in me right now 🥵😳
A very wise thought
Agreed I never knew I worked with so many miserable people until I joined this app. Some people on here are desperately in need of gaining some perspective.
This is Dave from the next cube over. Working with you makes us all secretly miserable due to your attitude and poor work product but because we work at Microsoft you are a protected class so no formal action can be taken.
I dont even know what this means, but creating imaginary scenarios to be outraged by is perfect for this thread
Right. Most on here are idjits.
