I find Glassdoor salary reviews much lower than what’s reported here. I just got a verbal from the recruiter that an offer is coming my way in Seattle for Principal Software Eng. What’s average base salary for this title in Seattle now days?
Our salaries are from BC era, so you’d rather not check that out
If so, why do you guys put them?
Company is Accenture project in Bellevue. I don’t have numbers yet. But 13 yoe. Is $200 base on the low or high end?
TC for Principle is 350k-450k. That base number is pretty high. I doubt your base offer is 200k unless you’re already making that much base. Remember cost of living is a lot lower in WA than CA. I made the jump too because of this.
The only people who report on glassdoor have fringe opinions so expect fringe results.
Glassdoor's salary reviews costed me a fortune in last negotiation. Never gonna trust it.
Elaborate plz
Cost me a fortune, too. Glassdoor data is years old, doesn’t ask you how many yoe and how long you’ve been at the company and there is no field for equity, sign on, and non sign on bonus. New people coming in usually get paid higher than current employees. When I negotiated my salary, I asked for base only and did not negotiate other parts of the package. Oracle lowballed the shit out of me and I was out at least 50k in equity and sign on. Equity is real money folks. You sell the RSUs and you get money from that. I didn’t make the same mistake this time 20 months later, used levels.fyi and blind posts as data points instead, and I doubled my TC. Fuck Glassdoor.
What’s your tc? Or please gtfo!
Second rule of TC, never believe TC. The First rule is always give TC. TC?
First rule might be to include the 'company name' in the 'expected TC' post 🤦🏽♂️
