Blind sentiment about issues at FAANG
Spending about 2 weeks on blind for the first time, this is what I've gathered from most posts about the common issues in Faang companies. Would like to get a more clearer picture about how the market is right now FACEBOOK - Perm processing held up due to lawsuits AMAZON - Pip culture and terrible management. Huge workload and no time for social life APPLE - not sure?? To be edited NETFLIX - shitty catalog but nothing else seemed bad yet about work culture? Can be reviewed from comments GOOGLE - ethics issues and woke stuff? Lowballing offers? Not much new innovation on products What are the other common/popular issues at specific companies that anyone needs to be aware of before joining that company. For instance TIKTOK - terrible wlb, strain and no mental peace? WALMART - haven't experienced personally but saw mostly stuff about team politics/ Bad products management decisions or lack of technical skills at higher levels? Layoff? Please interact with this post somehow to help build a better idea about all companies from your experience and the post can be edited. These are just perceptions from blind posts and comments. I have noticed that most of the people i see posts from are pretty out of touch with the real world. Every poster is already beyond 6 figures and talking bad about the company that is paying them 2-5 times what the average american is making under much worse conditions. I was unaware this was where the top 5% was coming to complain about their jobs. I make good money but the average american is really underrepresented on the platform.
I mean, that's sort of the point though, right? Blind is dominated by high comp tech workers...people come here to gossip and moan Blind really isn't for the average American. Tech workers are not the average American (though as one, I respect the average American far more than us).
It’s like nature one can’t survive without the other. In my opinion we’re equal at the end.
Apple has more leaks than a faucet, they do operate in silos
Biggest issue with Apple is all the secrecy going around. You can’t talk to anyone on what you working on other than your team. How do they want people to innovate if you can’t even talk about it. All I hear from leadership is “surprise and delight”. But nothing about innovate.
Nothing from apple is innovation. Not in the last couple years. However they do take something thats out there and perfect it even more and integrate it within the apple ecosystem
