It seems like AI group at Bloomberg is somewhat elite and hard to get in. They need folks with PhDs. Also, learnt that they need more interviews. How is the comp there like compared to the rest of BB ENG? Work there seems cool! Current TC 170k Edit 1: i cleared interviews and made it in the group. They didn’t change my TC. I was like wtf! I did full onsite again. Will they change it in my Feb eval cycle? Edit 2: after eval only went up by 8% to 182k #machinelearning
Maybe post in the internal forum? 🤔
Internal forum?
Bloomberg forum. Right tab.
AFAIK, PhD isn't required. I was offered an interview with them with just MSc and 1 yoe.
Did you get an offer what was TC?
I did not interview. Was pretty happy with Amazon.
PhD is not a hard requirement. I just have an MS. Comp is good, I think. My base + bonus was > 200K as a new grad Amazon IDK about comp in London. But there are definitely teams there.
Will comp change if i move from ENG to ENG AI?
Meaning interviews worth it or not
Would it be possible to know how to find these AI teams in London? I just started there (currently in training) and I'm pretty interested in joining one of these teams. I don't have a PhD but specialized in ML during my Masters and have some AI research experience (+ papers). Thanks!
There is a small london presence under edgar meij although a lot of general ENG teams have ML projects you can find during job fair at the end of fsd training
Thanks for that! Definitely helpful.
If you want to be a research engineer in ai you need a phd in NLP or you have to be an engineer in ai for some time before getting on the research branch
What about comp?
Okay just edited the question since i made it to the group but didn’t have change in comp.
OP, I'm interviewing with them soon -- and would love to know about your interview experience and get some pointers from me. Can I DM you?
If someone is answering this, can you also please provide an answer for London.
+1 since they are in london and nyc
