I recently received a new grad SWE offer from Bloomberg (TC 170k) and it’s my understanding that the company wants to return to office at some point. Can anyone who works at Bloomberg give me anything more concrete? What’s the general sentiment among engineers and team leads? When do you think a mandated return to office/hybrid is going to happen?
It’s already happening. Ask your recruiter, and they can give you proper insight. Hybrid so far.
ENG is hybrid permanently with 3 days in the office minimum.
Negotiate more
Official word is 3 days a week hybrid beginning March 7th. Whatever actual days you choose to come in are up to your team
The transparency and communication around RTO is absolute dog shit. Upper management should be ashamed of themselves. One time they postponed RTO a week before we were supposed to come back. How the fuck are people supposed to plan around that?
Back to office on march 7, 3 days a week. Most people want to stay home but management wants people to go back, lack of transparency and communication. Good snacks , transportation reimbursement up to 75 a day till June, but they are canceling free lunch
When does free lunch go away?
Honestly, snacks are meh and don't hold a candle to Google or FB. I don't put much weight on the snacks in workplace selection but I don't see how ours are impressive. Google has ice cream shops and cafes. We get prepackaged ice cream once a week in the summer.
March 7 3 days a week
"At some point" is March 7. If you care about wfh DO NOT come here. The very very limited remote spots have 5 years at the company as a minimum requirement.
If you are looking for full remote, this isn’t a company you are looking for
March 7th , 3 days
Can I DM also in process?
