Bloomberg layoff anytime soon?

Got an offer from them. Looks like any company could lay off - sales force, LinkedIn etc. Should I join just for job security? #layoff #layoffs #bloomberg TC: 270k Yoe: 5

Finance doesnโ€™t seem to be impacted by the current crysis (yet) so it might be safer than most.

Bloomberg seldom lays off! Read online... Even during the 2008 recession they dint! I hear they are the most safest option!

Bloomberg has lot of attrition in the past few years and they struggled to hire with crazy TCs. So they are now catching up with this downturn. You are safe.

Not a safe option if the company has the same empty employment promises as it's founder https://www.npr.org/2020/03/23/820228854/former-staffers-sue-bloomberg-campaign-alleging-they-were-promised-pay-through-n

Come on. Thatโ€™s Mike Bloomberg, not Bloomberg LP.

Out of curiosity how do you think a company with a monopoly on financial data will be effected by any sort of recession or tech bubble burst?

Okta sbAB13 Jan 5, 2023

Monopoly may not matter if companies get rid of terminal subscriptions in this downturn, but given it is private it doesnโ€™t have to do layoffs to please the investors which is happening now.

Bloomberg !PIP<GO> Jan 6, 2023

Lol bloomberg raised terminal prices by 10% and still made record revenue this yr
