I was rejected after having 2 rounds of onsite interview. I solved two LC medium questions and passed all test cases for the first round except for the extended question. The interviewer asked the extended one 5 mins before moving to have a conversation. I coded but there was a small bug (easy fix). I was a little bit rushed because I had experience running out of time. For the second round, it was an unexpected system design round because the recruiter told me I will have 2 technical coding rounds. Although I’ve not practiced system design interview recently, I have a good knowledge of building system and studied with Grokking and System design book. I designed the system from the scratch and explained CAP theorem and the major logic with the distributed cache i.e Redis. I asked prepared questions and showed enthusiasm. I’m not sure what went wrong. I practiced coding enough (my LC count is 700) to find the optimal solutions quickly. I’m so disappointed #Bloomberg
“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not weakness, that is life.” I’ve aced many an interview and didn’t get offers. There are so many things outside of our control, don’t let it affect your confidence. You’ll get the next one
hey can i dm you?
Yes
Oops,, was feeling little bit confident with 50 lc questions. That’s doomed for tomorrow’s interview:(
Which team did you interview for?
