Been at the company for half a year now (new grad hire) and wondering what the yearly raises look like. And does Bloomberg award bonuses?
Generally between 3-8% raises, and yes they have bonuses of around 20% of base guaranteed, with an extra 1-5% depending on performance. High impact performers can hit 10%+ raises, although this also depends on overall company performance. 6 yoe, 200k base, 40k bonus guaranteed Got 3% raise first year, 8% the next
Wow I heard 5-20%. This is terribleā¦3%?? Iāll be leaving after the 1st year lol
rkxx04 came in as a senior. Those first year raises are not very much as you just came in at market rate and didnāt have much time to make āimpactā. New grad raises are typically 10-20% for the first few years until you hit senior and youāll be in the low to mid 200s. That is when raises slow down if youāre average or bad.
Tc?
Is this astroturf? How could you work at a company for half a year and not know about the bonus structure? It's all very explicitly spelled out in your offer letter. Did you not read your job offer? Yes we get bonuses. Paid out last paycheck in Feb. You find out the amount mid Feb. It is more or less going to be your pre-established target bonus for the year. You really have to suck hard to not get full payout, but even if you do amazing you likely won't get more than 115% of target payout. Almost everyone every year lands between 100-115% of their target.
But what about yearly raises. Thatās a valid question from OP
Yes, I did read the offer letter. It does not tell you how much of raise you can expect each year, which is what I was inquiring. Thereās a million other equally important things to learn about and I can only learn so much in 6 months.
Yes there is usually yearly raises. They vary from 2% to 20% depending on your performance and the gap between your pay and what someone with that performance is supposed to make based on their algorithms. I'd say vast majority of people get between 5 and 15%.
Juniors usually get double digit increases. You'll be fine for a several years
