Bloomberg to HF/PF

Has anyone made the move to a hedge/prop fund from Bloomberg? I've heard about jumping from competitor to competitor gives higher sign on packages, does Bloomberg fall into that category? Also for Citadel, I see there are levels.fyi info for software engineering manager but no postings. Is this similar to Bloomberg where you have to join as an IC and then make your way up to it?
