Bloomberg vs Microsoft

Currently at Microsoft on a team with poor WLB. TC is ~175 (Base, annual bonus, Stock) but this will bump up following annual comp adjustments in September. Have an offer from Bloomberg. Tc is 220: 186 Base 34 Annual Bonus For context I have less than 2 YOE. Considering NYC vs Seattle is the jump worth it? I'd much prefer NYC rather than Seattle but long term would this hurt my career prospects if I do make the jump? I have a couple of other loops coming up (Amazon) but have been getting hit with a bunch of hring freezes while in the process for some other companies. (Edit: freeze at the offer stages)

Take Bloomberg. More of a lateral TC move since NYC is more expensive, but keep in mind the BB offer is cash which is a good thing in this potential recession Plus, you mentioned you wanted to live in NYC over Seattle - this is your launchpad. There are many stories of FAANG and similar companies poaching talent from Bloomberg, so not career suicide imo Finally, WLB is probably going to be better than your current team. If you wanted to you could also just continue to interview then jump ship for another NYC company after Seems like a no brainer to me

Definitely plenty of career opportunities in NYC. You won't be missing out.

You will have no problem getting interviews at either place…
