We just had an event where people on the board got together and had a discussion about this that and the other. At one point the ceo asked the new female board member how her experience has been being the only woman at her level. She’s red pilled as fuck. She said she doesn’t want a handout and she got their by hard work. She has never believed she had trouble as a woman because she can tackle any challenge. She said to work harder than every other person, not just the guys. After the event I overheard one of our female team members lament about how disappointed she was at the board members response. She said being a woman IS harder and the board member should have said that. I just laughed my ass off inside.
The said female board member, whether what she said is true or not, was put on the spot and had no other choice. This is why a group setting is never good for this kind of topic as people are forced to save their faces.
Being a woman in tech IS harder. I would appreciate it if anyone shout it out for me.
That was the experience of one person. She must be privileged as fuck. I know I had to fight with my parents for years to go to college. My brother was encouraged not only to do his undergrad but also his masters. I also know other Indian women whose parents happily paid for their college tuition. It infuriates me to hear privileged women making blanket statements without acknowledging their privilege. Not everyone has your board member's experience. Her account of her experience might be true. She never faced any challenges being a woman. I don't find that hard to believe at all. But people need to stop assuming it's the same for everyone else out there.
Everybody is doing the best they can.

Is she hot?
The board member or the complainer? Both are attractive. I’d go far as to say the board member is pretty hot.
You gotta deduct hard work points if you are a very attractive woman.
