I am a Computer Engineering student with 1 year left. Boeing will be offering me to return the next Summer when I finish school for a full time position. I am interning in a Weights and Mass Properties group, but am doing software related work for them. Should I push to receive a Software Engineering title on the return offer (rather than a Weights and Mass Properties title)? I am thinking it will benefit me in the future to have a Software Engineering title on my resume (so recruiters don’t have to read my job description to understand I worked on software). #engineering #software
Just put software engineer on your resume lol
This
Yeah if you do swe work, just put swe on resume. But for the purpose of pay scale on each job family. Yeah push to get that title.
Yes absolutely you should push for software - though I’ll note, your current team will technically change because the software engineers report up through a completely separate business unit now

In general, yes. If working in aerospace you want to have a software title rather than a specific aero title, it will be much more portable if you later leave for another field. For specifics I on the titles banding and pay rates you likely can refer to the SPEEA contract with Boeing for SEA area jobs.
I agree! Say if you want to go Tech. Which one sounds better.
