Hey there Blind, like some people seeking a Jr position, I put down that I have like 2 years of SWE experience. Boeing actually called back and they want to do an interview. Not sure, I heard all the interviews are STAR format... what should i do? Also, I wrote that i'll be getting my degree in 2023, but I actually need one more semester to finish things online. Will Boeing care that I didnt finish? #Boeing #Aerospace #Defense #SWE #Interviews #software #Help #NewGrad
No one really cares about or will verify your degree, but lying about work experience is gonna come out sooner or later and you’ll get bolo’d.
Bolo'd aka fired?
Yes not only that but you will end up on blacklists, making it harder to get future jobs. This shit will come back to haunt you.
Boeing will do a pre hire background check.
As in they'll have people verify my employment? I actually have worked 2 years at my current company but not as a software guy. I have a friend who's a SWE that will vouch for me as an engineer as well.
They will verify the dates and title of your employment, and your graduation date.
Note: This is for an Entry-Level Software Engineer position, SWE Level 1
There is a very bright future for you in politics. Don’t let software tie you down.
Thank you! My desperation has molded me into a future presidential candidate
I recently had an interview at an old company where it was just one panel interview asking me behavioural questions. I don’t understand how they judge people’s technical qualities with just behavioural questions
I heard Boeing only does behavioral questions... and the role they're interviewing me for is a new grad role. I put down 2 yoe on a whim.
Yeah that’s what I mean, even if you really had 2 YOE, how’d they know if you are technically qualified for the role? Anyone can make up stories for Behavioural questions.
They are a government contractor, they will hire a stupid man but not one that is a liar. A liar is always a liability. They will find out.
They background check hire/departure dates and graduation dates. You are going to get blacklisted if you continue.
^This - come clean with the recruiter on your real details. They may still want to proceed with an entry level role
Unless you’d really like to work for compny in future cancel, otherwise just go through with the interview process and see happens to the end. They might not verify education
Lying about a degree is one of the easiest ways to have an offer revoked. Try lying about experience or run for Congress instead.
What a timely and relevant post.
