About to get a job offer from Boeing, I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on what sort of salary an E2 is making at Boeing. In particular, if anyone has insight as to what kind of work environment to expect I'd appreciate it.
Location? I would imagine the environment is not very different from Honeywell? Very large established company with lots of bureaucracy. Things move slow here but WLB is outstanding. Boeing is known for taking good care of its employees. Good benefits and even better 401k matching.
Which location do you work in, may I ask? I’m also interviewing with them (Chicago) and would love any insight. Very nice to hear that WLB is good!
Honestly work life balance depends on the team. My last team had a fantastic WLB. My new team doesn’t have one.
slzm60, can you clarify your skillcode & level? Boeing's levels work like this: Individual contributors : start at L1 (new grad) & go up to L5 (subject matter expert/consultant) Managers : start at "K" for a 1st line manager and go up to "M" for director. Executives : E3, E2, E1 Are you interviewing for an executive level role? or an engineer starting at L2?
Each skill may use different grades, easiest is L1 - L7, others is just a Letter like for an admin it could be a Level B which depicts what level you support. E5 is the lowest level of exec - CEO of Boeing is E1.
Depends on position and location but Engineering/ IT in Seattle can range anywhere from $80k-$100k. WLB and Benefits as mentioned especially 401(k) and tuition assistance are excellent.
Skill code matters more than level for new hires
Old school windows 2008 legacy environments, with near zero leadership flexibility on using new tech or throwing out outdated processes. There is a committee for everything, whether or not it’s needed anymore. IT leadership made their stripes in the physical server era.
