Any idea what to expect for electrical engineering manager with 20 YOE? TC: 180K
π₯: it's Boeing. Boeing also has well established salary ranges for each position/level/location, so it's pretty easy for someone internal to find what to expect.
A friend of mine works at Boeing for 203K base. That's big money when you don't live in Tier 1 (Seattle or Bay Area) & Tier 2 cities (Austin, Raleigh, etc) Don't worry about people talking about RSUs, bc their base salaries are typically low as a trade-off (most of Blind are lower levels chasing stocks thinking they're rich) Like a Google L6 TPM role would need to pay me at least 500K TC for it to make sense to walk away from say $175K base in the midwest Ex: buying a home near me at 600K can get you a McMansion with acres
This sounds great for lower tier cities but Iβm in the Greater Los Angeles area. 203K base is still better than my current TC.
What's your current TC?
