Boeing's $9 an hour engineers

While eating a chicken parm over lunch I ran into this article: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-06-28/boeing-s-737-max-software-outsourced-to-9-an-hour-engineers Can someone in Boeing back this up? #boeing

Amazon Dr. Jones Aug 8, 2019

“relied on temporary workers making as little as $9 an hour to develop and test software, often from countries lacking a deep background in aerospace -- notably India.” Now we know who is truly responsible for this...

Amazon CeoExtra Aug 8, 2019

Not Boeing, right! I saw many people kept chanting “3rd world pilot error” for many months after the accidents.

Amazon Dr. Jones Aug 8, 2019

More like 3rd world engineering error.

^Get this man some medical attention. Did grandma hijack your phone?

Amazon UTukMyJerb Aug 8, 2019

Not from Boeing but I can back it up that eating chicken parm for lunch is a winning move.

Microsoft Dunph Aug 8, 2019

Isn't $9 an hour basically an elite engineer in India? 😂😂😂

Symantec 0xdeaf Aug 8, 2019

Unfortunately, it is. If not elite, but fairly respectable pay range

Sumo Logic PloxTest Aug 8, 2019

It's not elite it's slightly lower than what a new grad in India would earn in base pay in most of the companies . TC of course will be around ~1.5 this .

Op where did you go for chicken parm

Google əๅɓoo⅁ Aug 8, 2019

They have been outsourcing to low-wage countries for years (like most other tech companies). What is new news? (besides chicken parm. We have kale over here)
