I received an offer from Uber for Sr. swe, they said the bonus is 15% based on performance. Is this common?? I hear they offered more bonus in the past. If you work at Uber, what is your current bonus percentage??
Based on previous cycles (subject to change), that's a reasonable expectation for a slightly above average performance. 4x that amount in equity as well.
Do you know what would be a common range of bonus for a 155k offer?
As other people said, it is changing at the moment, so nobody, including your recruiter knows. Last year for a sr lvl, zone 4 bonus was around 100k, and I think zone 3 was about 30k. Then they readjusted those zone 3s to be more around 50-60k range. Year before was entirely different. My two cents though, don't join Uber. You will miss Linkedin.
What's wrong with LinkedIn? Could it be worse than Uber? Maybe Uber just needs to acqu-hire LinkedIn engineering, i am tired of interviewing LinkedIn candidates for years.
msft, change is in the horizon. Also the company can be mega political at times and has deep pockets of shitty management.
Dont join uber, you will repent.
Bonus is not cash - it's mostly rsu and some cash - anyways why would you join Uber ? Make sure you drink the kool aid every day and learn to celebrate cities
We need the exact wording in your offer letter in order to tell you how much you can expect. There is no typical bonus at Uber because different engineers get fucked up in different ways. If they only tell you that it's 15% "based on performance", expect 0$.
What's your sign on equity?
Recruiter is saying the truth - bonus as payable for last years hard work is 15% on average. You also get a refresher in RSUs vesting over 3 years
Nobody knows what will happen. The comp policy is being revamped.
this is news, any idea what's is the motivation for the revamp?
Have you not been reading blind?
