Booking.com trying to layoff?

I'm doing interviews with them (Netherlands) but a friend who's already there said he heard some rumors that they did a re-org, and many people are left with no orgs. These are the people they want to lay off, but due to Dutch law it's not very easy so it will take some time. Can anyone from there confirm or deny these rumors? Blind tax: 42 lakh INR

Not true in NL org, they are shuffling around people. Layoffs may happen in Booking Holdings for contractors, but mainly they are hiring more and more offshore staff.

Yep two of my friends recently landed a gig at holdings in India. They seem be agressive hiring there

I am planning to apply for booking.com, but I can't find any open job roles for backend engineer with 2 YOE. You sure they're hiring? @Mankato

Who cares about India

That is the reason for that meaningless reorganization.

Don’t think booking is laying off people

Re org is due to hiring freeze in Amsterdam and not being able to deliver even the p0 and p1 items. So they moved bunch of teams to india to clear up the capacity. Leadership said no layoffs at the moment. So that's it. But that doesn't mean there will be no layoffs in future.

Couple years back they laid off or divested in the majority of customer support which immediately tanked customer satisfaction. There’s been a move to build tech centers in India and Eastern Europe but it’s taking time for booking holdings to make that happen. Dutch labor laws make it almost impossible to fire employees so I expect them to offer severance packages similar to what happened in 2020. I don’t expect this to happen this year but perhaps in 2-3 years time?
